a centennial celebration!

Tonight at work, one of our regular customers was looking at the little tiny poster we have illustrating the different types of cones. It's a commercial poster rather than a handmade one, so it has the date each cone type (cake, sugar, waffle, etc.) originated. Anyway, she pointed out that this is the 100-year anniversary of the cake cone, which happens to be the very first type of ice cream cone! In 1904, they were served at the World's Fair in St. Louis. Let this be a year of celebration.


(Seriously, though, I was a little bit excited.)
