Complete the motion if you stumble
---Red Hot Chili Peppers, "Can't Stop"

Tonight I served at a United Methodist Women dinner at my Sunday School teacher's house. It was a "mystery" dinner and I had to lead the ladies over in a three-car caravan (I took four ladies and the rest spread out in a car and a van) to the undisclosed location. As (my) luck would have it, we got separated almost immediately because the middle car followed a car that just looked sort of like mine. The van stayed with my car, but it took several phone calls and several stops and a missed turn that was my fault before we finally arrived. It was a lot of fun, though. The ladies were very reassuring, practically cooing that it "wasn't my fault" and that I was "doing wonderfully." Some improv performers did audience-participatory entertainment after we served the dinner--it was a lot of fun, and Isaac's dad was one of the performers! I got to talk to him afterward about how I was at the Theatre Arts party at his house, the one where a hole got knocked out of a wall.

The whole night was like Fried Green Tomatoes II or something. But in the Midwest. Cool older women, good food, etc.

It's so easy to have a mood alteration after reading livejournals on the Internet. One feels happiness when reading a hopeful or excited entry. There are the cryptic entries that bring worry for a friend. There's the sympathetic sadness and outright confusion. There's wistfulness and anxiety and invented problems and urgency and it all changes with every sentence. It's weird, that's what it is.
