Sitting in an English garden
waiting for the sun
If the sun don't come you get a tan
from standing in the English rain

--The Beatles, "I am the Walrus"

I checked EVERYTHING but "Start toning workout" and "Watch The West Wing or Cheers" off today's to-do list. Since the latter is purely fun and the former can really wait another day without serious consequences, I am thrilled. This doesn't happen very often. I usually check the vast majority, but rarely without any lingering, nagging tasks waiting for the next set of 24 hours.

I spent a lot of money today. It wasn't superfluous spending, but still somewhat distressing since I know I'm going to spend money during spring break and since I haven't paid my dad for my car insurance for March yet (actually, I haven't for the past couple of months, but since I didn't have any hours at work before this month, my parents said they would pay--that was really nice of them, not to mention helpful). I took the gas tank from empty to full. I went to Berry's to buy photographic paper. I bought glossy finish instead of pearl, so I got the smaller (and less expensive, though ultimately less economically efficient) 25-sheet package. My painting teacher, Mrs. Y, was there buying sepia toner! I seem to see people I know wherever I go. I also bought a 10-pack of CD-Rs and, ah, some mint gum and peach gummy candy. (And the peach gummy candy was only 78c, so I don't think it could be viewed as a true waste of money.)

Our new computer has burning capabilities, so I am now the proud owner of my first mix that isn't actually on a cassette tape. I wrote all the track titles and times on the little CD sleeve in neat handwriting and I'm trying to come up with a great title for the whole thing. I am so excited about this! Even though a lot of people have been able to do this for years, only now do I realize how much fun it is.
