This government paper is really annoying. I'm getting it done tonight so I can work on my term paper tomorrow night, but I can't concentrate for more than a few minutes at a time. It doesn't help that I keep leaving the Internet browser open. I'm capable of checking my friends page dozens of times in one night.

I have to write about three favorite presidents and one unfavorite president from the past 100 years, rating them in terms of how well they fulfilled their presidential powers. Even though I don't really have passionate feelings about any of the presidents, I chose F.D.R., Harry Truman, and Clinton as my favorites and Warren G. Harding (his entire political career can be boiled down to "he liked his corrupt friends too much") as my least favorite, even though I really despise Nixon and think Reagan shouldn't have been president for reasons of mental health. I'm over halfway done, and I have notes on the parts that remain unwritten. I really need to do this so I can get to sleep--if I don't, I'll be dead for the AP English Literature test in the morning, which I am dreading.

There was absolutely no reason for me to write this except I wanted to use one of my three new icons. I love making icons.
sidewalksparkle: (the long and winding road)
Someday I'm going to write an entry that goes something like this: "Today I put the finishing touches on my English thesis paper...it isn't due for a couple of days, but I wanted to have plenty of time to relax this weekend so I went ahead and worked a couple of hours every night for the past week. It was worth it!"

Actually, I'll probably never write an entry like that.

This is self-loathing, but "loathing" is too strong a word.
