There are few things better than driving out of the parking lot after a fun but tiring evening at work with Ben Folds Five's "One Angry Dwarf and 200 Solemn Faces" playing a little bit too loudly. I'm not thirsting for any particular revenge, the piano just feels good.

OK. McCarthy paper. Joseph McCarthy was a real jerk. Speaking of witch hunts, I've always been fascinated by the Salem witch trials. As a kid (this sounds funny to say, but hey, I'm Ms. 18-Year-Old-Partial-Adult now) I loved The Witch of Blackbird Pond and also loved reading The Crucible in American Lit. I remember watching the movie version, which had Joan Allen, of course--Dr. K loved Joan Allen. It's really sad that Dr. K is no longer living. People who'd been through her class in 10th grade used to always joke about the Joan Allen obsession, even though I honestly do like Joan Allen. Now it is just strange. I still think it's funny, but now it's history, too.
